Why was John MacArthur Present at Martin Luther King’s Assassination Crime Scene?
John Macarthur of Grace Community Church claims to have seen the blood of Martin Luther King just hours after Dr. King was shot. John Macarthur also claims to have entered the very bathroom from which the establishment media alleges James Earl Ray shot Dr. King. The quotes below are from “A Retrospective on 40 Years: John MacArthur with Rick Holland.”
RICK: We just elected a first black President and it’s raised the whole issue again of civil rights in our country. And some of the folks might not know that you had a very interesting brush with the Civil Rights Movement at a very significant time in history. Why don’t you talk about that?
JOHN: Yeah, before I came to Grace Church when I was a seminary student, I came to know a man named John Perkins. John Perkins came to Christ after a very, very troubled childhood. He was raised in Mississippi…he started attending my Dad’s church and I got to know him and grew to love him and his wife Vera Mae.
“Well in the purposes of God he returned to Mississippi to a little town called Mendenhall, and Mendenhall, Mississippi south of Jackson and he started a ministry there. He started a school there. He started a church. Started a little co-op for people to buy things and really helped that little community of Mendenhall. This was right at the time when Civil Rights Movement really exploded and John asked me if I would come to Mississippi and if I would preach, if I would go out to the black high schools which were totally segregated and always on the other side of town, and if I would preach and do some gospel ministry in these high schools around Mississippi. So I said, “Absolutely, I’d love to do that.”
“…I think I went down there for a period of about five years, going down and spending a pro-longed period of time. I lived with John and Vera Mae in their house…
“Well it was during those times that I was there and I will never forget, I can’t tell you the whole story, but I’ll never forget one night, I was in the middle of Jackson, Mississippi in the office of a man named Charles Evers. Charles Evers had a brother named Medgar Evers. Medgar Evers was the first martyr of the Civil Rights Movement. He was the first person killed. Charles became the first black mayor…the first black mayor in the south at Fayetteville, Mississippi. He was a friend of John’s and I had come to know him. And we were sitting there and he was trying to explain to me that night in Jackson what was going on. Now remember, I was a very young guy, I had become immersed in that culture, grew to love those people. And Charles was talking and a man burst through the door and said, “Martin Luther King has been assassinated.” That happened that night while I was with Charles and John and some others.
“The immediate issue was that there were serious things going on in the street in Jackson and they were trying to get me out of there because I was as pale as a ghost. And here we were worried what might happen to me. And so they escorted me. And then they said, “You know, we’re going to go to Jackson. We want to…we want to go…we’re going to Memphis, we want to see what happened.
“So they took me. And in those days the police weren’t nearly as protective, forensics hadn’t developed to what they had and they didn’t necessarily protect crime scenes. So we went to the motel, up to the landing, saw the blood where Martin Luther King had been shot just hours before by James Earl Ray. I actually went to the little building opposite the motel, went up on the second flood, stood up on the toilet and looked out the window where James Earl Ray had shot him. And I was there at that very, very, very crucial time.
“To make a long story short, when we went back and endeavored to continue to do what we were doing, we’re driving down a country road headed to one of the high school meetings and we were arrested and taken to the jail and accused of fomenting trouble and all of that.
“So those were very, very volatile, volatile times…But God has continued to bless the ministry there. It’s going on today, it’s called Voice of Calvary. John took the name from my Dad’s radio program and he used it there and that ministry flourishes today…”
Iain Murray Affirms John Macarthur’s Presence at King Assassination Crimes Scenes
The following is an excerpt from an article on Grace and Truth website titled, “An Interesting Fact about the King Assassination”:
“What I never knew was that a future evangelical leader arrived on the scene in Memphis that night [the night of Dr. King’s assassination]. Driving up from Mississippi where he had been working in a serious [sic] of revival meetings with black evangelical leader John Perkins, John MacArthur came with a group of friends to the Lorraine Motel on the evening of April 4, 1968. As related in Iain Murray’s new biography of MacArthur, the man who has been Pastor at Grace Community Church in California for the last 41 years, was in 1968 in a series of evangelistic meetings with Perkins. When Perkins and his associates heard of King’s slaying, MacArthur joined them on the trip to Memphis. Perkins and his friends were careful to protect MacArthur, a white man, from potential threats from the outrage over King’s death.
“When they arrived late on the evening of the 4th, they found the Lorraine Motel unguarded. Amazingly, by today’s standards, there was no police guard, no crime scene tape. The men went right up to the balcony where they saw the blood stains where King had fallen. MacArthur even says he went across the street to the boarding house from which James Earl Ray had fired the shots. John MacArthur, future evangelical leader, stood where Ray had stood on April 4, 1968 and looked out to the balcony where one of the pivotal moments in American history took place.”

Who was Medgar Evers?
Medgar Evers was a Freemason
John Macarthur claims that he was in the office of Charles Evers in Jackson, MS. when Martin Luther King was assassinated on April 4, 1968. Charles Evers was the brother of Medgar Evers, the murdered civil rights activist who was killed on June 12, 1963. Medgar Evers was also a Freemason (see Famous Prince Hall Masons) believed by most to have been killed by another Freemason.

“In December 1954, Evers’s appointment as state field secretary was officially announced. The new position required that Evers move from Mound Bayou to Jackson and establish an NAACP field office…Once in Jackson a residence for the family was quickly secured followed by the selection of the new NAACP office in the business hub of the local black community on North Farish Street. Evers relocated the field office ten months later to the Masonic Temple on Lynch Street.” (Mississippi History)

Lynch Street) on May 30, 1955…The second and current Mississippi office of NAACP is located on the second floor of the Masonic Temple Building. Mr. Aaron Henry served as State President of the NAACP from 1960 until 1992. His office was housed at the Masonic Temple during his 33-year tenure as State President. Medgar Evers managed the NAACP activities as its Executive Director from 1958 until his death in 1963…The lodge has since been the headquarters of Prince Hall Masonry and the Mississippi branch of the NAACP. Charles Evers Took Over Medgar’s Position With the Mississippi NAACP
“When Medgar…was murdered in 1963, Charles Evers returned to Mississippi and took over his brother’s role in the organization.” (Charles Evers). And according to the facts of the US Supreme Court case NAACP vs Claiborne Hardware Co., at the time of the Martin Luther King assassination, Charles Evers was the Field Secretary of the NAACP for Mississippi.
“On April 19, 1968, the field secretary of the NAACP for Mississippi, Charles Evers, led a march to the Claiborne County courthouse and demanded that the entire Port Jefferson police force be discharged. When the demand was not met, the boycott on the merchants was reimposed. On April 21, Evers made a speech in which he said, ‘If we catch any of you going into these racist stores, we’re going to break your damn neck.’ During the boycott, individuals known as ‘Black Hats’ or ‘Deacons’ stood outside stores to identify blacks who broke the boycott. The names of those who were identified were published in a black newspaper and the names were read aloud at NAACP meetings. In at least 10 instances, blacks who violated the boycott experienced instances of violence, including shots fired into their homes, bricks thrown through their windshields, and tires on their cars slashed.” (NAACP vs Claiborne).
Did John Macarthur meet with Charles Evers and John Perkins at the Jackson Masonic Lodge?
John Macarthur states that he was in the office of Charles Evers in Jackson, MS. when Martin Luther King was assassinated. Evidence from the US Supreme Court Case, NAACP vs Claiborne Hardware Co., shows that at the time of the assassination, Charles Evers was the field secretary for the Mississippi NAACP. And the Jackson Masonic Temple has been the headquarters for the Mississippi branch of the NAACP since Medgar Evers was its Field Secretary in the 1950’s.

Note: It’s quite possible that John Macarthur is lying when he says that he was in the office of Charles Evers in Jackson, MS when MLK was shot. It’s possible that he and Charles Evers and John Perkins were already in Memphis at the time of the assassination.
Why did John Macarthur’s biographer lie?
In his biography of John Macarthur, Iain Murray stated, “On the night of April 4  John was in Jackson, Mississippi, talking with a group that included John Perkins and Charles Evers, the black Mayor of Fayetteville, whose brother was regarded as the first martyr of the Civil Rights Movement… As they were discussing events a man burst into the room with the news ‘Martin Luther King has been assassinated.'”
Iain Murray states that at the time of the MLK assassination (April 4, 1968), Charles Evers was the Mayor of Fayetteville, MS. But Charles Evers wasn’t elected mayor of Fayetteville until more than one year later on May 13, 1969. (Black History).
Why does Iain Murray want his readers believing that Charles Evers was the Mayor of Fayetteville on April 4,1968? Is it because Murray wants to obscure the fact that Charles Evers was then the Field Secretary of the NAACP in Mississippi? (And that the MS. NAACP’s headquarters were in the Stringer Grand Lodge?)
The Decision to go to Memphis
On the night Martin Luther King was assassinated, John Macarthur claims that he was in Jackson, Mississippi in the office of Charles Evers along with John Perkins and some others. Being concerned about John Macarthur’s safety in the wake of the assassination, these men “escorted” him out and then a decision was made to go to Memphis, Tennessee “to see what happened.”
Why would John Macarthur, a white man supposedly fearing for his safety in Jackson, Mississippi, decide to make a very long drive (210 miles) at night right to the King assassination crime scene in Memphis where one would reasonably presume there would be far more danger to his safety given the anger, rioting, etc.?
But were John Macarthur, John Perkins, and Charles Evers in Jackson, MS at the moment MLK was assassinated? Could they have already been in Memphis when MLK was shot?
Were the Martin Luther King Crime Scenes Really Unprotected?
In the accounts above, John Macarthur offers reasons for his ability to gain access to the King assassination crime scenes by stating that “police didn’t necessarily protect crime scenes in those days and because forensics hadn’t developed.” Are these reasons valid?
Testimony from a 1999 civil court trial indicates that the King assassination crime scenes were barricaded by police within 2 minutes after King was shot. Click here to read the trial transcript. Also, since it’s been proven in that court of law that no shots were fired from the rooming house bathroom across the street from the Lorraine Motel, how did John Macarthur know to enter this bathroom just after the assassination and before knowledge of this bathroom “crime scene” was even made public?
How did John Macarthur, John Perkins, and Charles Evers obtain access to the MLK crime scenes if they were barricaded by police within minutes?
Phil Johnson Contradicts John Macarthur’s Account of His Arrest
According to John Macarthur, after returning to Mississippi from Memphis, they (Macarthur and I assume Perkins) were arrested on the way to a high school meeting for “fomenting trouble.” But in in what appears to be an attempt at damage control, Phil Johnson, the Executive Director of John Macarthur’s Grace To You and John Macarthur’s Public Relations man, states that Macarthur was arrested in Mississippi for merely “preaching the gospel.”
In 2006, Phil Johnson claimed on his Pyromaniacs blog that John Macarthur was arrested in Mississippi for “preaching the gospel.”
“In the years when conflict was rife over civil rights legislation in the deep south, John MacArthur was locked up by a gung-ho Mississippi sheriff for preaching the gospel. MacArthur was leading a group of young people on a summer missions trip, doing evangelistic work in some of Mississippi’s most impoverished communities. At the time, MacArthur was working in partnership with John Perkins, a respected black Christian leader…”
A Challenge to Phil Johnson’s Account of John Macarthur’s Arrest
The following comment posted on the Pyromaniacs blog challenges Phil Johnson’s assertion that John Macarthur was arrested in Mississippi for merely “preaching the gospel”:
“Phil, you wrote: ‘John MacArthur was locked up by a gung-ho Mississippi sheriff for preaching the gospel.’ With all due respect, I find that exceedingly hard to believe. MacArthur was arrested for preaching the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and faith in Him for justification from sins? Really? That’s the Gospel. He was arrested for *that* in Mississippi? I don’t believe it…MacArthur is a Christian, but he was not arrested in Mississippi for ‘preaching the Gospel.’ It just seems like a warped version of what transpired, and not a sober, objective reporting of the facts. Is the police report available? Were the charges ‘preaching the Gospel’? Most of the Southerners — particularly Mississippi — in that period were devout Christians and would not arrest anyone for simply ‘preaching the Gospel’. If that were the case, they’d be locking up people all over the landscape every Sunday…Please. “As I stated, are we to believe that Mississippi only had a few Christian preachers of the Gospel in the 1960s and it took people from California and New York to ‘set things right’ in regard to the Gospel and such ‘true Christians’ were arrested for ‘preaching the Gospel’ and no other reason? How the Government Killed Martin Luther King

“Before scoffing at this headline, you should know that in 1999, in Memphis, Tennessee, more than three decades after MLK’s death, a jury found local, state, and federal government agencies guilty of conspiring to assassinate the Nobel Peace Prize winner and civil rights leader. The same media you would expect to cover such a monumental decision was absent at the trial, because those news organizations were part of that conspiracy. William F. Pepper, who was James Earl Ray’s first attorney, called over 70 witnesses to the stand to testify on every aspect of the assassination. The panel, which consisted of an even mix of both black and white jurors, took only an hour of deliberation to find Loyd Jowers and other defendants guilty. “The Setup: The defendant in the 1999 civil trial, Loyd Jowers, had been a Memphis PD officer in the 1940s. He owned a restaurant called Jim’s Grill, a staging ground to orchestrate MLK’s assassination underneath the rooming house where the corporate media alleges James Earl Ray shot Dr. King. During the trial, William Pepper, the plaintiff’s attorney, played a tape of an incriminating 1998 conversation between Jowers, UN Ambassador Andrew Young, and Dexter King, MLK’s son. Young testified that Jowers told them he ‘wanted to get right with God before he died, wanted to confess it and be free of it…’
“Jowers also gave an interview to Sam Donaldson on “Prime Time Live” in 1993. The transcript of the interview was read during the trial, and it was revealed that Jowers openly talked about being asked by produce warehouse owner Frank Liberto to help with MLK’s murder. Liberto had mafia connections, and sent a courier with $100,000 to Jowers, who owned a local restaurant, with instructions to hold the money at his restaurant.
“John McFerren owned a store in Memphis and was making a pickup at Liberto’s warehouse at 5:15 p.m. on April 4th, roughly 45 minutes before the assassination. McFerren testified that he overheard Liberto tell someone over the phone, “Shoot the son of a bitch on the balcony.” Other witnesses who testified included café owner Lavada Addison, who was friends with Liberto in the 1970s. She recalled him confiding to her that he “had Martin Luther King killed.” Addison’s son, Nathan Whitlock, also testified. He asked Liberto if he killed MLK, and he responded, “I didn’t kill the nigger but I had it done.” When Whitlock pressed him about James Earl Ray, Liberto replied, “He wasn’t nothing but a troublemaker from Missouri. He was a front man … a setup man.”
“The back door of Loyd Jowers’ establishment led to a thick crop of bushes across the street from the Lorraine Motel balcony where Dr. King was shot. On the taped confession to Andrew Young and Dexter King, Jowers says after he heard the shot, Lt. Earl Clark, who is now deceased, laid a smoking rifle at the rear of his restaurant. Jowers then disassembled the rifle, wrapped it in a tablecloth and prepared it for disposal.
“The corporate media says it was James Earl Ray who shot MLK, and he did it from the 2nd floor bathroom window of the rooming house across the street from the Lorraine Motel. The official account alleges the murder weapon was dropped in a bundle and abandoned at Dan Canipe’s storefront just before he made his getaway. But even those authorities and media admit that the bullet that tore through MLK’s throat didn’t have the same metallurgical composition as the bullets in the rifle left behind by James Earl Ray. And Judge Joe Brown, a weapons expert called to testify by Pepper in the 1999 trial, said the rifle allegedly used by James Earl Ray had a scope that was never sighted in, meaning that the weapon in question would have fired far to the left and far below the target.
“The actual murder weapon was disposed of by taxi driver James McCraw, a friend of Jowers. William Hamblin testified in King v. Jowers that McCraw told him this story over a 15-year period whenever he got drunk. McCraw repeatedly told Hamblin that he threw the rifle over the Memphis-Arkansas bridge, meaning that the rifle is at the bottom of the Mississippi river to this day. And according to Hamblin’s testimony, Canipe said he saw the bundle dropped in front of his store before the actual shooting occurred…
“The Cover-Up: Around 7 a.m. on April 5, the morning after the shooting, MPD Inspector Sam Evans called Public Works Administrator Maynard Stiles and told him to have a crew destroy the crop of bushes adjacent to the rooming house above Loyd Jowers’ restaurant. This is particularly odd coming from a policeman, since the bushes were in a crime scene area, and crime scene areas are normally roped off, not to be disturbed. The official narrative of a sniper in the bathroom at the rooming house was then reinforced, since a sniper firing from an empty clearing would be far more visible than one hidden behind a thick crop of bushes… [This is another reason to doubt that the crime scene was unprotected as John Macarthur stated; for they had yet to remove the real evidence (the bushes).]
“Incredibly, James Earl Ray turned down two separate bribes, one of which was recorded by his brother Jerry Ray, where he was offered $220,000 by writer William Bradford Huey and the guarantee of a full pardon if he would just agree to have the story “Why I Killed Martin Luther King” written on his behalf…
“The Deception: ‘Another King v. Jowers witness was Earl Caldwell, a New York Times reporter who was sent to Memphis by an editor named Claude Sitton. Caldwell testified that the orders from his editor were to ‘nail Dr. King.’ In the publication’s effort to sell the story of James Earl Ray as the murderer, the Times cited an investigation into how Ray got the money for his Mustang, rifle, and the long road trip to Tennessee from California. The Times said that according to their own findings as well as the findings of federal agencies, Ray got the money by robbing a bank in his hometown of Alton, Illinois. In Pepper’s closing argument, he says that when he or Jerry Ray talked to the chief of police in Alton, along with the bank president of the branch that was allegedly robbed, neither said they had been approached by the New York Times, or by the FBI. Essentially, the Times fabricated the entire story in order to sell a false narrative that there was no government intervention and that James Earl Ray was a lone wolf…”
Who is Charles Evers?
According to John Macarthur, he was in the office of Charles Evers at the time of the MLK assassination and he accompanied Evers to the MLK crime scenes. Charles Evers at that time was the field secretary for the Mississippi NAACP whose headquarters was in the Stringer Masonic Lodge in Jackson, MS. What else is known about Charles Evers?
Charles Evers, Friend of Nelson Rockefeller
“…Around 1955, I met Nelson Rockefeller for the first time…I’d heard Nelson himself was a special friend of the Negro, so I bowled my way in to see him, at one of this little receptions up in New York. I knew once I was in he’d like me. And he did… I made myself an informal advisor to Nelson. It’s more likely that Rockefeller advised Charles Evers and perhaps financed his activities.
Charles Evers Claimed to be a Gangster in Chicago
Charles Evers claims to have lived a “high on the hog” gangster life in Chicago prior to taking over Medgar’s position with the NAACP in Mississippi in 1963. “Before and after the war, Evers participated in bootlegging operations, prostitution, and numbers in Mississippi and Chicago…”
“Around 1956, Evers’ entrepreneurial gifts and his civil rights activism landed him in trouble in Philadelphia, Mississippi (Charles had started an NAACP Chapter in Philadelphia, MS in 1956). He left town and moved to Chicago, Illinois. There, he fell into a life of hustling, running numbers for organized crime, and managing prostitutes.” (Charles Evers Wiki)
Did Charles Evers live “high on the hog” in Chicago because of his criminal enterprises or because he had financial backers in Chicago?
Did Charles Kill Medgar?
Charles Evers was accused by the FBI of killing his brother, Medgar. “A few days after Medgar died, two FBI agents came around to question me…Those FBI agents strolled into my office and said they had reason to think I’d killed Medgar! Was Charles Evers an Informant?
Between 1956 and 1973 there was a secret spy agency that had been set up by the state legislature of Mississippi called the State Sovereignty Commission. Its members infiltrated the civil rights movement to inform on workers and to sow discord. Charles Evers was implicated in this operation as an informant.
“Despite his high-profile work during the civil rights era, and despite his slain brother’s martyr status, Evers faces accusations of having been in league with the Sovereignty Commission. Evers has a long file, more than 1,000 pages. It attests to a double relationship…Was he a collaborator or a negotiator?
“A damaging memorandum was sent on March 31, 1967, from Earle Johnston Jr., director of the commission, to Lee Cole, a commission investigator. ‘It has been reported to this office that on one or two occasions you mentioned to people in your territory, ‘We have Charles Evers in the palm of our hand,’ the memo says. ‘Whether the report is true or not, I would much prefer that you never make any such statement because it might jeopardize some of our troubleshooting procedures. Charles Evers Gives Differing Accounts of his Whereabouts on the Day MLK was Shot
According to John Macarthur, Charles Evers was in his office in Jackson, MS when MLK was shot. However, Charles Evers has given differing versions as to his whereabouts on that day.
“On the evening of April 4, 1968, I was driving Highway 28 to Natchez [MS] . I had the radio on, but my mind was on that night’s rally in Natchez. The next day I was supposed to fly to Memphis to help Martin with a Negro garbage strike there. Suddenly a white voice came on the radio: Martin had been shot in Memphis. He’d been staying at the Lorraine Motel…In Natchez, I went straight to Mamie Lee Mazique’s house. Charles Evers also claims he was headed for a meeting in Fayette when MLK was shot. “I was scheduled to go to Memphis with him, but I had a meeting in Fayette. The news came on that Martin had been shot.” (Medgar, the Movement & More)

Charles Evers’ Presence at Senator Robert Kennedy’s Assassination
John Macarthur claims that Charles Evers and John Perkins were with him at the Martin Luther King assassination crime scenes. Bush.
Christian Community Development Association
In 1989 John Perkins founded the Christian Community Development Association (CCDA). It’s physical address is 3851 W. John Perkins Attended the Prentiss Institute
“Fletcher was mentored by Reverend John Perkins, the founder and former president of the Voice of Calvary, now called the Mendenhall Ministries. Fletcher met Perkins while Fletcher was a student at the Prentiss Institute, and it was then that Perkins was assigned by the school to mentor Fletcher. It was common for students to be assigned a mentor at the school, and Fletcher was about in the 8th grade at this time. Perkins and his wife would go to the Prentiss Institute to have Bible study with the students in the dormitories. Perkins would speak in chapel and have Bible study in the boys’ dormitories, and his wife would have Bible study in the girls’ dormitories.

The Rosenwald Fund
The Rosenwald Fund (also known as the Rosenwald Foundation, the Julius Rosenwald Fund, and the Julius Rosenwald Foundation) was established in 1917 by Julius Rosenwald and his family for “the well-being of mankind.” Julius Rosenwald…became interested in social issues, especially education for African Americans, and provided funding through Dr. Booker T. Washington [Booker T. Washington was a Freemason] of the Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute (now known as Tuskegee University), a historically black college (HBCU), prior to founding the fund.
In 1917 he set up the Julius Rosenwald Fund, a Chicago-based philanthropic foundation, and in 1920 the Rosenwald Fund established an independent office for the school building program in Nashville, Tennessee. Who was Julius Rosenwald?
The President and Chief Executive Officer of Sears, Roebuck & Co. in Chicago
The Rosenwald Fund — the product of an alliance between Booker T. Washington, president and founder of Tuskegee Institute in Alabama, and Julius Rosenwald, president and chief executive officer of Sears, Roebuck & Co. in Chicago — was the only philanthropic effort in the early 20th century to concentrate on improving the learning environment of black students in the South.
“Two school forms, the H-plan and the T-plan, became standard for rural and town schools alike in the 1920s. The Rosenwald standardized plans used these two forms almost exclusively for schools of four classrooms or more. Julius Rosenwald was Co-Founder of the American Jewish Committee
Julius Rosenwald was the VP of the American Jewish Committee (AJC). And according to the AJC’s website, he co-founded the AJC. “In 1906, the American Jewish Committee was founded by visionary individuals with such surnames as Sulzberger, Strauss, Schiff, Adler, Krauss, Rosenwald, and Kempner.” (AJC.org)
The Rosenwald Fund Financed Communist Front Groups and the NAACP
According to “Julius Rosenwald: The Man who Built Sears” (p.175), Rosenwald funded the president of the Atlanta B’nai B’rith who was convicted of murdering a teenage girl. (Julius Rosenwald)
Julius Rosenwald attended Chicago Sinai Congregation. His rabbi was Emil Hersch. Rosenwald’s son-in-law, Alfred Stern (wife of Edith Rosenwald), a Trustee and Director of the Rosenwald Fund, was a communist spy who fled to Russia after being convicted of espionage by a US court.
The Rosenwald Fund gave to the Southern Conference Educational Fund (SCEF), a communist front organizing negros in southern states. Well known communists were leaders of the SCEF. One SCEF check to Martin Luther King was signed for by a foreign agent for Fidel Castro.
The Rosenwald Fund started the Highlander Folk School. This was a communist training school. Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks (a member of the Eastern Star) attended this school.
“The Jewish community contributed greatly to the NAACP’s founding and continued financing. Jewish historian Howard Sachar writes in his book A History of Jews in America of how, “In 1914, Professor Emeritus Joel Spingarn of Columbia University became chairman of the NAACP and recruited for its board such Jewish leaders as Jacob Schiff, Jacob Billikopf, and Rabbi Stephen Wise.” Early Jewish-American co-founders included Julius Rosenwald, Lillian Wald, Rabbi Emil G. The Rosenwald Fund financed the NAACP and the American Social Hygiene Association (ASHA). Julius Rosenwald was the honorary Vice President of the ASHA. Many leaders of the Social Hygiene Movement were proponents of Eugenics, ie. Social Darwinism, ie. the culling of the unfit.
From the ASHA link above, one can see that Dr. Thomas Hepburn was the leader of the Connecticut social hygiene movement. His wife, Katharine Martha Houghton Hepburn, co-founded with Margaret Sanger the organization (Birth Control League) that would become Planned Parenthood. Their daughter, the actress, Katherine Hepburn, has been honored by Planned Parenthood for her work on their behalf.
Julius Rosenwald Funded the Development of Atomic Weapons
Providing $7 million for the development of Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry in 1921 (which was subsequently used for the Manhattan Project), Julius Rosenwald, played a role in early covert atomic weapons development in the 1920s and ’30s. (JFK Assassination)

Julius Rosenwald was the President and CEO of Sears based in Chicago. Thomas G. Ayers, father of Weatherman Bill Ayers, and partner of Gaylord Freeman and John Drick, both Grand Masters of the Priory of Sion, at First National Bank of Chicago, was on the board of Sears. Born in a Bank
Henrietta Mears’ father, E. Ashley Mears, had substantial wealth, owning more than twenty banks located in the Dakotas. (Talbot School of Theology). “Banking was the occupation of his [E. Ashley Mears’] family; one of his uncles founded the First National Bank of Philadelphia and another uncle founded the First National Bank of St. Paul. (The Henrietta Mears Story-Ch. 8).
Since the global ecumenical movement was launched to a large extent by Henrietta Mears’ ministry, it makes one wonder if powerful bankers contributed significant amounts of money to give credibility and a firm foundation to this ecumenical and ultimately Masonic enterprise. Utilized Small Groups for Church Growth
Organizing Christians into small groups is the objective of nearly every Christian church leader today. While some of these small groups are biblical “didactic” Bible studies, most are unbiblical “dialectic” sessions meant to “mind control” the group participants by changing their way of thinking from obedience to God to obedience to the group and its leader. Their objective is to shift the accountability of the group participants from God to man. Click here to read how these small groups place the participants in demonic bondage.
In recent times these small group dialectic sessions have been popularized by Rick Warren who refers to them as facilitator-led groups. At John Macarthur’s Grace Community Church they are called “Discussion Groups” and at the Harvest Bible Fellowship they are called “Life Groups.” These groups were developed to an extent by social-psychologists at the National Training Labs.
“Accepting a position at Central High School, Henrietta continued in that capacity for ten years. Her Fidelis Class, comprised of young women at the First Baptist Church, grew to an enrollment of three thousand attendees at the end of ten years. Such growth was based on a system of small groups comprised of five girls including a leader; when groups reached ten girls, one girl left to start a new group of her own.” Did these girls join the groups because they believed in Christ or because they desired to socialize?
“In March of 1926, she met Dr. Stewart P. MacLennan, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, California, who had come to preach in her church…She found an exciting ministry there with great potential; she finally sensed God’s call and accepted the position of Director of Christian Education in the fall of 1928.”
“Under her direction, the Sunday School grew from 450 to more than 6000 in 1933, and later to 6500-the largest Presbyterian Sunday school of its time in the world. ‘Teacher,’ as her students called her…” “she operated on the same level as the pastors, practically speaking.” Henrietta was disobedient to God in this capacity. “But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.” 1Timothy 2:12
Outcome Based Education employs the dialectic process. “After she and her fellow Christian educators agreed on learning outcomes for each of the levels, she began to write materials by herself at first, and later was assisted by associates.” “[Her] Publications were known for their quality, student appeal, and emphasis on life application.” Life application is a watering down of the Bible.
Hollywood Christian Group
“Her vision also included reaching those in the film industry for Christ; she was instrumental in forming the Hollywood Christian Group as a means to this end…” Of great interest, John Macarthur of Grace Community Church and Phil Johnson of Grace To You have both stated that John Macarthur’s father was a co-founder of this Hollywood Christian Group. Mears Integrated the Teaching of John Dewey with Holy Scripture
The Talbot School of Theology lists Mears as a “Christian Educator.” In a lengthy bio. about Mears on the Talbot website under the subtitle “Contributions to Christian Education,” it is stated:
“Possessing both training and experience as a public school teacher, she integrated much of the contemporary educational thought of John Dewey and others regarding student needs and learning process with the timeless content of Scripture.”
Can you believe that a so-called Christian Seminary considers the mixing of John Dewey’s socialism with Scripture to be a “contribution to Christian education!?”
Who was John Dewey? “It turns out that progressive educator John Dewey’s books were not only influential in the United States. ‘Dewey’s first six books were rapidly translated into Russian,’ historian Paul Kengor said in a conference sponsored by the group America’s Survival. ‘They told John Dewey his books were perfect for what they were trying to do in the USSR.'”
“‘Dewey’s ideas were apparently judged as crucial to the [communist] revolution as any weapon in the arsenal of the Red Army.’ Kengor did much of his research in the archives of the Communist International, about as primary a source as you can get.”
John Dewey was an original signer of the Humanist Manifesto in 1933:
“The first manifesto, entitled simply A Humanist Manifesto, was written in 1933 primarily by Roy Wood Sellars and Raymond Bragg and was published with thirty-four signatories including philosopher John Dewey. Unlike the later ones, the first Manifesto talked of a new “religion”, and referred to Humanism as a religious movement to transcend and replace previous religions based on allegations of supernatural revelation.” (Humanist Manifesto-Wikipedia)
John Dewey was an anti-Christ atheist, yet Talbot School of Theology thinks it’s a great thing that Henrietta Mears integrated his teachings with Holy Scripture in order to facilitate Christian student’s needs.
Changing God’s Teaching Method
The Talbot website goes on to name another of Mears’ contributions to Christian education:
“Methods and procedures [of teaching] could change, she contended, and must be rethought based on the changing condition of the world and human need (Cox, 1961).” Does God allow methods to change in teaching his word based on changing conditions? God commanded that His word be preached and taught (didactic teaching). He doesn’t command that His word be dialogued or discussed to a consensus (dialectic method) which was advocated by Marxists like Dewey and which now exists in nearly every church today taking the form of small group dialectic sessions.
“In her training design she utilized the full range of learning taxonomies. While her cognitive input was strong, she understood the power of the affective and volitional domains, and stressed the experiential as well (Clinton, 1995).” Does God have an interest in your “affective domain” (feelings)?
Has Talbot ever been a Christian Seminary? Talbot is the seminary for Biola. Charles Fuller was the Chairman of the Board of Biola in the late 1920’s. Talbot Seminary’s first dean was Charles Feinberg, an Orthodox Jewish rabbi. John Macarthur has stated that the only reason he attended Talbot was to be personally tutored by this rabbi. Ecumenical Christian Conferences
Mears founded the Forest Home Christian Conference Center. This was a place where Christian diversity could meet and mingle (setting aside their differences and finding common ground–building the one world church). “Mears saw God’s work as crossing denominational lines.” Today, numerous churches in America host these ecumenical conferences.
“Dr. Billy Graham claims that his evangelistic ministry was transformed through Mears and events surrounding the College Briefing Conference of 1949 at Forest Home.” Bill Bright and his wife lived for 11 years in Mears’ home where the ecumenical Campus Crusade was born.
“One writer in Christianity Today (Zoba, 1996) called her ‘the grandmother of us all.'” (Talbot School).
First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood was Founded at Masonic Hall
Henrietta Mears taught at the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood (FPCH) for 35 years. According to FPCH History:
“Dr. MacLennan was instrumental in persuading Henrietta Mears to take the position as Director of Christian Education, where for 35 years, from 1928-1963, Miss Mears established a legacy of Christian education and ministry that was unique in American Christendom. During the 1950s, she ministered through the College Department to many hundreds of men and women, including such future leaders as Louis Evans, Jr.; Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade for Christ; Donn Moomaw, and Dale Bruner. Her vision for a Christian camp in the local mountains led to the purchase and subsequent development of Forest Home. She also founded Gospel Light Press, which continues to publish Sunday School materials.”
According to A Little Piece of History, in 1903, FPCH was founded at Masonic Hall:
“On December 20, 1903, at 11:00 am, a group of 25 men and women gather in an upstairs room at the Masonic Hall on Highland Avenue to organize what we lovingly know today as the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood. In 1987, The Gay Community News published the Homosexual Manifesto which is confirmation that the agenda of the homosexual community has been to prey upon the young:

We shall seduce them in your schools, in your dormitories, in your gymnasiums, in your locker rooms, in your sports arenas, in your seminaries, in your youth groups, in your movie theater bathrooms, in your army bunkhouses, in your truck stops, in your all male clubs, in your houses of Congress, wherever men are with men together. Your sons shall become our minions and do our bidding. They will be recast in our image. They will come to crave and adore us.”

Hundreds of millions of dollars are being spent to change the churches’ Biblical stand on LGBTQ. In 2014, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) came to the deep south with $8.5 million to push Project One America with “A Christian Conversation Guide” training manual to organize and mobilize the LGBTQ community into the churches. The Reformation Project and gay activist Mathew Vines have since made their way into many churches and onto Bible Colleges campuses like Biola University. Just this week a LGBTQ group won Faculty approval on the Southern Baptist-affiliated Samford University. Why is this happening?
Distracted and Played
While the Church is being manipulated and distracted, pre K-12 schools are being invaded by the LGBTQ. The HRC with its “Welcoming Schools,” the Southern Poverty Leadership Conference’s “Teaching Tolerance” and Planned Parenthood’s “Comprehensive Sexuality Education” are making rapid headway into coercive compliance to the new norms and redefining /countering everything we teach our children about family and sexual purity. Meanwhile, church leaders have done nothing to inform or rally Christians to oppose this.
What SHOULD surprise and SHOCK us is the inside facilitators who have been collaborating with the LGBTQ and exacerbating the issues. During war time such activity would be considered treasonous and those involved dealt with harshly. Looking at some hard facts will hopefully provide opportunity for those involved to step up and respond.
Behind the Rainbow Door – Is this an Orgy of Collaborators?
Civilitas Group – Can civility and common ground be the answer to aggressors wanting to redefine marriage, sexuality, gender and faith for our children’s generation?
In January 2015, a gathering of evangelical “thought leaders” organized by Doug Birdsall of the Lausanne Movement agreed that lack of civility and polarization is the biggest threat to society that exists today. Launching their civility campaign based on the 2012 compromise of Dan Cathy CEO of Chik-Fil-A with the leaders of Campus Pride LGBTQ activist group, the Civilitas board is covenanting to make nice and lead the way to saving society by civil conversations, finding common ground and forming collaborations. Though settling the LGBTQ skirmish of a chicken retailer was motivated more to address PR troubles allowing expansion of its market base, it is held up as the model of Christian civility. Civilitas also chooses to ignore that redefining marriage, sexuality and gender provide a more CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER to American /Western society.
Also signed on to Civilitas are Fuller Seminary, Wheaton College, and BIOLA University leadership. Biola only a few months later invited “gay theology” activist Mathew Vines to their campus and Biola’s apologetics department soon launched a “Rethink” of how apologetics approaches issues like LGBTQ. Tim Keller of the PCA, Rick Warren of the SBC, Jim Daly of Focus on the Family coupled with the major players of the Obama Faith Based Partnership advisory team are also Civilitas Board members. The group agreed to the development and use of a “Civilitas Theory of Social Change” by the sociology departments of Princeton, Yale and the University of Virginia’s Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture. The IASC boasts intellectual inspiration from the famed Marxist Frankfurt Institute of Social Research. Interestingly, the IASC director, James Davison Hunter, is credited with having popularized the use of the phrase “Culture War” to describe the past (and touted as non-civil) approach of evangelicals to the activist charged climate which such think tanks are themselves helping to fuel.
The Southern Baptist ERLC head, Russell Moore, began his ascent to being a key evangelical spokesperson in 2013 and quickly made waves when he declared “the culture wars (a term promoted by IASC’s Hunter) were OVER and WE LOST. We should back off, make nice (espousing Civility) and just love our gay and lesbian neighbors.” Soon thereafter Moore led the SBC and ERLC conference on “Homosexuality and the Future of Marriage” where a host of change agents with new language and talking points schooled the church on how shameful its attitudes toward homosexuality have been. The conference came complete with Moore mentor, Dr. Albert Mohler of Southern Seminary, apologizing for 2,000 years of Christians’ being “WRONG on the issue of sexual orientation”. This was a powerful emotional appeasement yet lacking any scientific or biological basis for such an assertion. Also came the abandonment of Reparative Therapy which is a broad term regarding counseling for people wanting to exit the LGBTQ lifestyle. This term may be applied to any Biblical or pastoral counseling that does not affirm homosexuality as a natural desire. A federal bill is currently in play to outlaw Reparative Therapy nationwide as FRAUD. The ERLC meetings also included broad new language for homosexuals such as Same Sex Attracted (SSA) Christians, immediately facilitating acceptance of the more controversial “gay Christian” and “Homosexual Christian” terminology.
Though the conversations ignored their presence, activist groups like the Human Rights Campaign, Reformation Project, Gay Christian Network, were physically present and welcomed by the ERLC, Dr. Moore and his staff to the conference. The Human Rights Campaign was even promised a private session to meet with Russell Moore. The ERLC staffers boasted to HRC and other activists that Moore as head of the SBC’s ERLC was “rebranding the organization”. Moore is not finished declaring the loss of the much vilified Culture War or with rehearsing and representing the talking points of those who appointed him. (a private point I personally asked Dr. Albert Mohler in November 2014 – once it was apparent to him that the “marriage battle was lost” if he would then help the church rally against Planned Parenthood’s sexuality education CSE. I found Dr. Mohler was quite familiar with CSE and referred me to the offices of the ERLC with my concerns, which were quickly dismissed and met with ongoing disinterest.)
Now the Human Rights Campaign and others stand ready to mandate Comprehensive Sexuality Education at the federal, state and local levels. If you are in this struggle with some understanding of the harmful, abusive, demonic origins of encouraged sexual exploration and promiscuity at “whatever age a student feels they are ready” and yet are wondering where your pastoral denominational leaderships are and IF they are aware – at least in the case of the Southern Baptist two top tier leaders – they know and appear to have given the order to ignore constituents and stand down.
Further Southern Baptist Collaboration – Is the money worth the cost?
In 2009, Dr. Frank Page, a two-time President of the Southern Baptist Convention and present CEO of the Executive Committee, joined the Faith Based Partnership Board and Obama Reform Team of the Bush-era Faith-Based Partnership programs. Brought to the table to develop the outline for these “partnerships for the common good” were a host of interfaith leaders and representatives from the Human Rights Campaign and leading LGBTQ funder, the ARCUS Foundation.
Later in the administration a transgendered board member was added.
Dr. Page and other conservatives agreed to this collaboration for the common good with possibly the most progressive White House in U.S. history and its activist partners who helped defeat any and all Religious Freedom Restoration Acts and legislation or the inclusion of any Religious Exemptions which would protect the religious liberties of conservative churches and ministries involved in Faith-Based Partnership funding. How much of our current threat to Religious Liberty for Americans can be directly related to these very partnerships? Did the “Stand Down” orders to evangelicals develop from a “Theory of Impetus” among this rainbow coalition of diverse high level partnerships? Thus far, the Trump administration has failed to address these ongoing threats to ministries which have become government contractors by taking on Faith-Based Partnership tax funding. If the Trump administration continues to fund these programs with massive amounts of tax dollars, it is a serious tipping point on this trajectory.
Mega Church Mania Partners – Leadership Network and Hartford Institute led by Scott Thumma
Leadership Network recruits, resources, promotes and often helps fund the church plantsof the best and brightest up and coming evangelical leaders. Bothersome distinctions like theology and doctrine do not matter as Leadership Network has created a very large footprint in the evangelical community over the last 33 years. With its “invitation only” approach for “innovative /entrepreneurial pastors” few outside its circles could have known its reach or goals until the publishing of the founder, Bob Buford’s book “Drucker and Me”.
The Faith Based Partnership / Multi Sector Collaborations of management theorist, Peter Drucker, are central to Leadership Network’s training and view of the Church as solely a social organization that creates community. Doctrinal teaching and promotion of individual salvation are determined to be problematic, divisive and down played “for the common good.” It is no secret that the much lauded and loathed Emergent Church movement, which further divided evangelicals along “postmodern” lines, was the construct, product and proud offspring of direct Leadership Network influence. Conservative denominations saw new superstar preachers created within their camps in the same fashion.
Where it Gets Weird
Leadership Network has long collaborated with the Hartford Institute, based at the Hartford Seminary, CT, and its head researcher, Scott Thumma. Trend setting and tracking is done in collaborative research on church growth, mega churches and evangelical / cultural /statically driven work of Leadership Network and Hartford Institute. Scott Thumma of Hartford Institute and CEO of Leadership Network, Dave Travis along with in house LN researcher Warren Bird co-author books and white papers on such trends which they helped promote. Examples:
Where the disturbing part of this collaboration comes into play is when you consider the additional work of the Hartford Institute—its “Gay Religion” research and efforts to wed conservative evangelicals to an antithetical homosexual identity. Scott Thumma and Hartford not only work with leading organizations of influence among evangelical churches but also promote the gaying of all religious traditions. Scott’s work in particular is focused on “Negotiating a (Gay) Religious Identity: The Case of the Gay Evangelical”.
This effort which has been in play since at least the 1980s, involves the acceptance of BOTH conservative Biblical /evangelical view of homosexuality AND being a homosexual evangelical Christian. This dichotomy is synthesized through a “process of socialization” facilitated and negotiated with the help of groups like Hartford Institute. The following quote from the 1991 article admits:
“For many Evangelical Christians, a homosexual life-style and a conservative religious identity are simply incompatible… Members accomplish this change (reconciling the two opposites) through identity negotiation and socialization. In other words, they negotiate the traditional religious identity, in very selective areas, through interaction with Good News (the case study group cited in the article). Members are reconciled to their gayness, but still retain their Evangelical religious identity.”
Thus, Hartford Institute’s work helps a person who is LGBTQ to reconcile their conservative Biblical instruction with their gay identity, and the two acknowledged incompatible lifestyle become one. The individuals so helped are then sent to “evangelize straight churches” with this process.
So Civlitas, mentioned above, along with its partners, and Hartford Institute in its work with Leadership Network, are both engaging a process or theory of social change to move evangelical Christians toward common ground for the common good with the LGBTQ activism in our culture, the greater common goal appearing to be participation in the distribution of massive amounts of taxpayer funding.
Proclaiming the Generosity Gospel – Coaching us toward Significance – to redefine the Gospel and “harness” the churches / believers’ cash?
Bob Buford has boasted that much of his work with Leadership Network is focused on “turning the latent energy in American Christianity into active energy” including his assurance to Peter Karoff in Global Philanthropy Movement “The World We want” to “deliver legions of wealthy Christians primed to become big time philanthropists”. Thus, Christian giving and legacy endows “The World We Want” philanthropic goals of a globally neutered set of collectivist religions who downplay individual salvation and sanctification for collectivist “better worldian” saving society utopianism! Given his boast of targeting the biggest market share of Baby Boomer wealth estimated in Buford’s Half Time series of books to be some $41 trillion dollars (his year 2,000 estimate), it would be fair to say the plot thickens.
Lifeway Research guru Ed Stetzer and Scott Thumma Collaborate—Is Lifeway Research driven by numbers or an agenda?
Ed Stetzer became the darling of evangelical research and began his deep impact on Evangelicals at the Southern Baptist Convention’s North American Missions Board. He moved on to the SBC publishing giant and retailer Lifeway and headed Lifeway Research. He currently holds the Billy Graham Chair of Church, Mission and Evangelism at Wheaton College.
Stetzer wrote endorsements and the epilogue for Bob Buford’s Drucker and Me and has an admitted long association with Leadership Network. His work with Christianity Today, his Exchange Forum there and his influence through seminaries, books, Christianity Today’s dozen or so sister publications, church planting strategy, Urban Church Planting and Gospel Project curriculum, give him a major role in determining how the churches think about growth, evangelism, and ministry in the future. Quite often in Christianity Today articles, Stetzer refers to the research of Leadership Network and partners and Hartford Institute. Here Stetzer refers to his relationship with Scott Thumma: “Wednesday evening I got an email from my friend Scott Thumma, one of the authors of the research I had quoted and one of the top mega-church researchers in the country.”
Lifeway? — No Way – Yes WAY
So, thinking this through a moment — the lead researcher for the SBC’s Lifeway Research is good friends and collaborator with the developer of “The Gay Christian Identity” which negotiates the reconciling of a Biblical view of homosexuality and LGBTQ identity. Suddenly the host of mixed messages on LGBTQ issues coming from Stetzer, Moore and others begin to take on a more disturbing edge. Is this why Stetzer’s Exchange blog hosts a journalist outed for a gay tryst in 2012 to converse about “The Future of Evangelicalism” and asserts that homosexuality, which was once considered a CURSE, is now considered a CROSS (to be born by the SSA Christian) to one day perhaps being celebrated as a CROWN? Why is such a conversation being facilitated into mainstream Christian media? The same interview described the current attitude of the church on a range of issues from homosexuality, gay marriage, abortion, legalizing drugs and more as being like “unbaked cookies which need to be placed back in the oven and taken out in three to five years to see where we are.” This interview was about 3 years ago and the conversation and collaborations are about 33 years in the making.
Seeking the Welfare of the City – Is it possible to reach our cities with the Gospel while partnering with the ideologies destroying them?
This collaboration began 2005 in Orlando with CRU and Lausanne Movement representative Vonette Bright, PCAs Reformed Theological Seminary (Orlando) and NY City pastor Tim Keller. The Polis Report here is worth the time to read. The Seeking the Welfare of the City movement partners with pro- Marxist, pro-gay Urban specialist, Richard Florida, whose ideology promotes the use of a Gay Index and Tolerance Index much like the HRC Equality Index. (Richard Florida is also promoted by Bob Buford, Leadership Network, many Ed Stetzer interviews, Tim Keller, and a host of other curiously confused conservatives.)
Florida measures and rates cities by his indexes. (The Gayest Cities in America) Florida’s work with Smart Cities, Atlantic Magazine, City Lab and other urban centralized planning is renowned as the gold standard in economic development, urban renewal, historic preservation and community transformation. Florida’s books, beginning with the Rise of the Creative Class, assert that such urban centers must attract the Creative Class in order to succeed. This Creative elite includes gays, lesbians. bohemians, artists and musicians whose absence from inclusion in your project would doom it to failure. In actuality, the reason for Florida’s success lies more in the fact that major private and government grant funding uses his indexes as a LITMUS test for who will receive funding. A Florida protegee’ helps run the UCLA based Williams Institute whose work includes tracking the location of LGBTQ population clusters in order to help aid in what radical activists call “Queering the Census”.
So, the question begs – how can ministries like CRU, Reformed Theological Seminary, and Lausanne collaborate with such partners? Where is the common ground and the common good? How can Tim Keller, who has imported the Seek the Welfare of the City and Richard Florida’s Marxist ideology into his global church planting and City to City work, collaborate with such progressive pro homosexual policy while espousing Civility as the answer for the Church to a full-frontal assault?
Is Ignorance Bliss or just Criminal?
How can any of these church leaders named above ignore what is taking place in public schools with LGBTQ activists, the Human Rights Campaign and Planned Parenthood? How can conservative ministers jump on the collective band wagon of urban planning and think its pro Marxist and pro homosexual ideologies are compatible with or can be “Christianized” by injecting few Bible verse justifications? Whatever sells and whatever gets funded may be all the answer that is needed. If that is the case then the honest thing to do would be to come out of the closet as humanists and no longer preach and write and minister as though you are a defender of and faithful to Biblical principle.
The Ecstasy Turning Agony.
Given Scott Thumma’s work with the heart of evangelicalism’s trend setters and the ideology to “negotiate a Gay Evangelical Identity,” the once reliable litmus test of sounding biblically orthodox in one’s position on homosexuality is no longer a meaningful measure, given that one can, as asserted, be both biblically conservative and gay or allow for a gay Christianity. This is all being brought about admittedly by a process of socialization and a Theory of Social Change. All this for the “Common Good” as the white knights of evangelicalism seek to save society by selling short the churches’ true role in it. Faith Based money is the single common thread, the reorienting of the church toward the great “quest for equality” and the common goal of saving society is the touted pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Individualism is exchanged for the collective Christian identity. Marx and Hegel would be proud. The ONE whose Kingdom is not of this world is likely not watching with approval. And the Church is being called to partner with these delusions.
For the Church, we are left looking heavenward for some faithful leadership. How long, O Lord?

John MacArthur has a reputation for being a doctrinally sound expositor of God’s Word and a defender of the faith against apostasy. Yet Jesus warned His disciples not to judge ministers by their image but to inspect their fruit instead:
“Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” (John 7:24)
“Ye shall know them by their fruits. …A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” (Matt. 7:16-20)
John MacArthur preaches against the Emergent Church and its doctrinal errors, however, his popular book, Slave: The Hidden Truth About Your Identity in Christ, is replete with references to the heretical works of Gnostic, modernist and postmodern scholars who deny the fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith. Many of these scholars are rabidly anti-Christian and their works, which MacArthur recommends as authoritative, are filled with slander and blasphemy of the Lord Jesus Christ.
For example, John MacArthur favorably references Dale B. Martin’s book, Slavery as Salvation, because it likens the Christian life to the abusive institution of slavery in the Roman Empire. Dale B. Martin is Professor of Religious Studies at Yale University, an admitted homosexual and author of a blasphemous book titled Sex and the Single Savior which portrays Jesus as a homosexual. Prof. Martin’s true identity is never disclosed in Slave.
Another scholar whose translation of Gnostic writings is recommended by MacArthur is Bart D. Ehrman, Distinguished Professor of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Professor Ehrman is a New Testament critic who claims that he was an evangelical Christian until he discovered “errors” in the Bible. Dr. Ehrman now writes books which debunk the New Testament and advocate for Gnostic forgeries such as the Gospel of Thomas and the Lost Gospel of Judas Iscariot to replace the New Testament canon.
Slave is a best-seller among young Christians who are led to believe that the sources referenced therein are Christian books, or at least neutral historical sources. Theological heretics Dale Martin and Bart Ehrman are only two of many academics of the “Jesus Seminar” variety whose scholarship is recommended without an honest identification or disclaimer to warn the reader. By concealing the identity and agenda of his sources, John MacArthur is deceptively promoting Gnostic books and the Gnostic heresy to many young Christians who are not yet established in the faith.
John MacArthur also writes books and articles and preaches eloquent sermons against Paganism, but then sponsors youth events that are covertly pagan. Every summer John MacArthur and Grace Community Church host a youth camp and church carnival at the end of July—Regeneration Camp—which happens to coincide with the pagan festival of Lugnasadh which is also the Celtic Druid “Festival of Regeneration.” The young people who attend Regeneration Camp spend a week learning and practicing pagan customs that are conditioning them to receive the mark of the Beast, which will be a pagan symbol. Reinforcing their deception, Pastor MacArthur has assured his church that those who take the mark of the Beast may still be redeemed.
John MacArthur claims that he does not lead a denomination, however, his international network of churches, colleges, and seminaries is massive and continues to expand. John MacArthur has described the success of his worldwide ministry as an “explosion of spiritual fruit and harvest” and for this fruitful harvest he gives credit to the four generations of family ministers who preceded him. Most notably, he praises God’s work through his great grandfather, Rev. Thomas Fullerton, who was the pastor of St. James Presbyterian Church in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, for twenty years. During that period, Rev. Thomas Fraser Fullerton was also Worshipful Master of the Grand Lodge of Prince Edward Island, Grand Master of PEI Grand Lodge and Grand Master, Grand Secretary of the Provincial Grand Lodge and held other high offices in Canadian Freemasonry.
John MacArthur may preach against Freemasonry, however, his personal testimony is a tacit admission that his ministry is the “spiritual fruit” of Freemasonry which is dedicated to the abolition of Christianity. The “harvest” which John MacArthur attributes to his ancestor’s ministry is the Masonic New World Order.
Christians must be informed and vigilant, not only of overtly heretical churches, but of churches and ministries which are reputed to be doctrinally sound but are in reality stealth operations quietly promoting heresy. Unlike the Emergent Church leaders, who dispense with the sheep’s clothing, well-dressed wolves are harder to discern. But they have infiltrated the Christian churches and especially prey upon the youth who have little experience discerning false teachers and false teachings. The 13-part series which follows exposes the deceptive methods by which means John MacArthur is mainstreaming paganism in the Christian community and especially targeting the younger generation.
